It has been reported that about 50 households of IDPs from San Chyoi village and San Chyai village, currently sheltering in the Kachin Baptist Church in Mashi Kahtawng, have returned to their original homes.

Due to a slight improvement in the military situation, they have started moving back since 11 AM on August 11. One of the IDPs said, "We arrived here around early this month. We fled because of the conflict. Now, the situation is not as worrying as before. So we decided to live back in our own homes and villages. About fifty households are returning."

However, some local residents say that areas including San Chyoi still require special caution. Additionally, they mentioned that during the rainy season, attacks happen frequently by Y-12 airplanes during the day and jet airplanes during the night.

The Hpakant region is also frequently affected by heavy artillery attacks from the military. It is an area where civilians often get harmed or killed. The region is under intense military tension from both sides, and fuel shortages have caused rising goods prices.
