The Burma Women’s Union (BWU) stated that in September, due to airstrikes and ground offensives carried out by the Military Council, 47 women were killed and 57 were injured.The Military Council, in a period of about five years starting from February 1, 2021, alleges that it has committed various war crimes and offenses against ethnic groups and human rights abuses.


 In addition to the deaths and injuries, there were up to 57 injured individuals.The women who died and were injured include 36 killed and 32 injured by airstrikes; 5 killed and 9 injured by heavy weapon fire; 4 killed by extrajudicial killings; 1 killed and 1 injured by blunt force; 1 killed and an injured person due to urban mining subsidence; and 1 killed and 15 injured related to sexual violence.


Among the 47 women who died, three were under 18 years old, and among the deceased women, one was pregnant. In August, there were 73 women killed and 80 injured.
