In Lonhkhin Village, Hpakant, Kachin State, the military has taken positions and launched attacks, and due to the intense fighting in the village, many civilians are reported trapped, according to local sources.

“The military attacked and occupied positions in the village, and there are still many people trapped inside,” a local resident said.

Yesterday evening, April 6, the military entered Lonhkhin Village, occupied positions, and engaged in clashes, resulting in heavy exchanges of fire between both sides.

Due to these intense clashes, the Hpakant-Myitkyina-Mogaung road has been blocked since yesterday evening, trapping vehicles and traveling civilians.

In the Hpakant area, clashes between both sides have been ongoing since April 2. The military continues to resist using drones and heavy aerial weaponry. On April 2, KIA joint forces captured three military camps near Maw Wan, Hpakant.
