According to local sources, during the clashes between Waimaw and Lamyang, an artillery shell fired by the junta troops landed on the Nam Wa-Mukchyik Kachin Baptist Church (KBC), located along the Waimaw-Wa Shawng road, causing damage to the building.

It is reported that in recent days, junta forces have launched airstrikes and begun offensives with aircraft in the Waimaw-Lamyang area, while simultaneously conducting ground assaults, resulting in continued clashes between the two sides.

Due to these military offensives, residents in Myitkyina city said they have been hearing the sound of artillery fire daily, and security measures have been tightened further.

In addition, on the morning of August 26, the junta shelled towards Lamyang village with artillery, and at around 1 p.m. they dropped bombs twice using a fighter jet.
