The Union Election Commission (UEC) under the junta has announced an extension of seven additional days until October 20 for the display period of the initial voter lists prepared for the upcoming multi-party democratic general election to be organized by the military regime, according to phone messages sent out by the UEC office and received by local residents.

The voter lists were initially displayed from September 30 to October 13 for a total of 14 days. The extension now allows the lists to remain open for public review until October 20.

According to the UEC notice, individuals whose names are missing from the voter list may submit a Form (3) to request inclusion. If personal information such as name, national registration number, or father’s name is incorrect, they may file a Form (4) for corrections. Likewise, if ineligible persons are found on the list, objections can be raised using Form (4).

In Myitkyina, the lists have been displayed in various wards including Du Kahtawng, Myay Myint, Myo Thit Gyi, and Tat Kone. Similar displays have also been announced in Putao, Bhamaw, and Mohnyin townships. However, in Bhamaw Township where clashes are still ongoing the voter lists are reportedly posted only at the State Election Commission Office.

The junta’s Election Commission has announced that the first phase of the general election will be held on December 28, 2025, across 102 townships.
