A State Administration Council (SAC) helicopter that made an emergency landing in Shwegu was further attacked and destroyed by revolutionary forces yesterday, May 21, in the afternoon around 2 PM, according to reports from the Banmaw Scout Team, which covers news from the Banmaw region.

On May 20, revolutionary forces opened fire on three helicopters transporting supplies to the Banmaw area. One helicopter crashed about 15 miles from Shwegu, while another made an emergency landing at the SAC’s Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 56 in Shwegu. The latter was subsequently attacked and destroyed yesterday.

During the assault on the emergency-landed helicopter, revolutionary forces reportedly used heavy weapons, destroying not only the helicopter but also two vehicles that were shielding it.

Additionally, it has been learned that alongside the helicopter that crashed and burned near Shwegu on May 20, the revolutionary forces recovered 16 bodies of SAC soldiers and some weapons and ammunition.

However, the SAC claims that the helicopter crash occurred due to sudden mechanical failure while returning from delivering supplies to Banmaw, causing it to crash approximately 400 meters away.
