In the Bhamo region, where intense fighting is ongoing, frontline sources report that the KIA joint forces have managed to recapture some areas previously lost due to heavy ground and aerial offensives by the military.
It is learned that the artillery base (366), which was lost last week, has now been retaken by the KIA joint forces after launching a counterattack.
“Right now, Bhamo is under much heavier assaults. Both ground and air strikes continue, so some artillery and airfield positions had to be abandoned.
However, the artillery base has been regained. The fighting remains intense to this day,” a frontline source said.
Since early August, fighting has flared up again in the Bhamo region. The military has been carrying out daily bombardments with airstrikes, modern weaponry, and drone bombs in an effort to reclaim outposts it had previously lost.
At the same time, the KIA joint forces are also mounting fierce resistance to hold their ground, escalating the military tension between both sides.
Currently, in addition to the Bhamo region, heavy clashes are also taking place in Hpakant. With the military firing heavy artillery on a daily basis, reports say civilian casualties are increasing significantly.
