KIA Seizes and Burns Down Jammer Vehicle Used by Military and SNA Joint Forces

In Kachin State’s Indawgyi area, Mai Nawng village, during ongoing clashes, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) joint forces seized a jammer mounted vehicle that had been used by the military council and SNA allied troops, according to military sources.

On August 18, during battles around Mai Nawng and Mamone Kai, the SNA’s jammer vehicle was captured and subsequently destroyed by fire.

In July, Mai Nawng and Mamone Kai villages in the Indawgyi area had fallen into the hands of the military council forces and SNA joint troops. In the past few days, KIA forces launched counterattacks, and while they were able to recapture Mamone Kai village, clashes are still ongoing around Mai Nawng village.

As of today, fighting continues in Mai Nawng village between the military council, Shanni militia, and KIA joint forces.

Mai Nawng and Mamone Kai villages were captured on July 14 after being attacked by the military council and its allied SNA joint forces. They had stationed and entrenched there, but after over a month, KIA joint forces have managed to take them back.
