A stabbing incident occurred yesterday around 4 p.m. in Thida Quarter, Myitkyina, Kachin State, resulting in the death of a woman, according to eyewitnesses.

"It was at an alley beside a Pagoda in Thida Quarter. She was stabbed in the neck area and died right there in the middle of the road. And it’s not really a deserted place either, as it’s close to the main road. The incident happened a little past 4 p.m., close to 5 o’clock," one witness explained.

The incident took place in the alley near Sutawgpyi Pagoda by Njang stream Bridge. The victim was a young woman in her early 20s. She was reportedly wearing a ring at the time of her death, leading to the belief that she may have been stabbed during a robbery. The killer has not yet been identified and no arrests have been made. Around 5 p.m., the Ayerwaddy Karuna Social Assistance Association transported the body to the hospital.

Murders and stabbings have been occurring intermittently in both Myitkyina and Waimaw, not only at night but even in broad daylight, including cases of armed robberies. On September 21st, another case occurred in Waimaw, where a man was found dead from multiple stab wounds.
