KIO Administration Issues Household Lists and ID Registrations in Its Governed Areas

The KIO Government’s Immigration Department has been issuing household registrations and identification documents for residents living under KIO administered territories. From November 5 to 13, the department carried out the registration process for residents across the Western KIO Administrative Region, according to reports.

This initiative is part of the KIO’s effort to function as a governing authority by officially providing the necessary administrative documentation for the population under its control.

It is also reported that in other brigade areas administered by the KIO, immigration related offices have been opened, awareness activities conducted, and practical implementation has been underway. The Immigration and Department office within the Western KIO Administrative Region was officially opened on June 5, according to reports.

In addition, since March 2024 following the KIA’s offensive, household registrations have also been issued for returnees in villages along the Myitkyina-Bhamaw road, which came under KIO control after the operation, according to local sources.
