Large Artillery Shell Explosion in Hmohsisa Village, Hpakant- Six Locals Injured, One Woman Dead

In Hpakant town, where fighting between two armed sides remains tense, it is reported that last night, July 30, around 8:50 PM, a large artillery shell exploded inside a residential area, causing severe injuries to local residents and resulting in at least one death.

The shell exploded in the Maw Si Zar village area of Phyu Sin Kung Maw quarter. It has been reported that not fewer than six locals were seriously injured, and one woman died.

A local from Maw Si Zar village said, "At least six people were affected by the artillery shell inside the residential area. All those injured are civilians. One woman died. One person only suffered a leg injury and did not go to the hospital. All others have been sent to the hospital. The current condition is unknown."

Locals are trapped within Hpakant town with no places to flee due to ongoing intense fighting, blockades, and road closures.

The conflict in Hpakant remains severe with daily bombardments from the military council forces using aircraft bombs, drones, and large artillery.
