Men Who Raped a Young Woman Further Murdered a Man

Family members wrote yesterday that the man who was abducted on Christmas night was found murdered on December 31.

In Myitkyina, the same group that gang raped a woman has also killed a man they had abducted. According to information received, the group that carried out the robbery and abduction was the same six men who raped a 21 year old woman on Christmas night, December 25.

The victim who was murdered has been identified as Ko Aung Zaw Moe, a father of three from Tatkone Ward. He was stopped and abducted while driving along the Japan Road in Shatapru Ward, Myitkyina.

At around the same time, two women aged around 40 and a 21 year old woman were returning through Shatapru Ward at about 8:00 p.m. on Christmas night when they were stopped, assaulted, beaten, and raped by a group of six men, according to sources
