The military council has reportedly continued advancing toward Namsi Aung village, located along the Myitkyina–Mandalay road, after retaking control of Indaw and Mawlu areas, according to sources.

It is reported that since April, military troops have launched offensives along the Htigyaing–Katha road, capturing the Indaw area, and are now moving into Namsi Aung village and surrounding villages in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State, where they are taking positions.

It is also reported that local residents who support the military council welcomed the troops as they arrived in Namsi Aung village. The military forces reportedly recaptured Indaw town on April 30 and then launched an offensive into Mawlu town, about 17 miles away, taking control on May 5.

As a result, there is a possibility of continued clashes along the Myitkyina–Mandalay highway, and civilians are being advised by each other to remain cautious and carefully assess the situation before traveling on this route.
