A Myanmar military jet bombed a Buddhist monastery in Pinle Kone Village, Inndaw Township, Sagaing Region on April 14 while devotees were observing Thingyan uposatha (Buddhist holy days), leaving three civilians severely injured, according to local sources.

The attack occurred on Thingyan Akya, the final day of Myanmar's water festival, when the monastery was filled with lay Buddhists observing the Eight Precepts. No ground clashes were reported in the area at the time of the airstrike. The jet fighter, launched from Tada-U airbase, dropped bombs that directly hit the monastery compound.

This follows the complete capture of Inndaw town by revolutionary forces on April 7, including the strategic Japanese Cave stronghold on April 9. Despite no active ground combat, the military has continued daily aerial attacks on civilian areas.

The monastery's dhamma hall and living quarters were severely damaged in the attack. Three civilians who were receiving Buddhist teachings at the time sustained serious injuries from bomb shrapnel and were rushed to a nearby medical facility.

Local People's Defense Forces have warned residents across Inndaw, Wuntho and Kawlin townships to prepare bomb shelters and take immediate cover when aircraft are spotted. The warning comes as military airstrikes continue to target civilian areas despite the ongoing Thingyan festival period when Buddhists traditionally focus on religious observances.
