Military Artillery Kills Civilians In Hpakant

It has been reported that civilians lost their lives due to indiscriminate artillery shelling by the military council in the Hpakant region.

A woman was killed by the shelling, and two others were injured. The deceased was a 37 year old mother. Her children a 15 year old daughter and a 13 year old son were both seriously injured. The daughter’s injuries were so severe that one of her arms had to be amputated, and the son also suffered serious wounds.

The incident took place around 8:30 PM on July 30, when military troops stationed at Byuha Kung in Hpakant indiscriminately fired heavy artillery. One of the shells hit this family’s house in Lone Khin and exploded inside.
