The Indaw Township People's Defense Force has announced that all roads, including the strategic highway connecting the Indaw region and Banmauk area on the Kachin-Sagaing border, have been closed indefinitely starting from yesterday, September 15.

It has been learned that not only the road sections connecting Indaw and Banmauk towns but also the road sections for the Myitkyina-Shwebo-Monywa route have been blocked by the military side, prohibiting any passage.

Junta troops, in collaboration with the SNA Shan Ni (Shanni Nationalities Army), are conducting offensives in the Indawgyi area in an attempt to recapture territories they lost before the monsoon season. It is reported that frequent clashes have been occurring with the KIA joint forces (Kachin Independence Army).

Indaw and Banmauk townships are located on the border between Kachin State and Sagaing Region. It is understood that the KIA joint forces attacked and seized Indawgyi town as early as last April and continue to control it to this day.
