The Military Commission and allied militi are reportedly strengthening military forces and increasing operations in the Hkawnglanghpu area, not only through ground movements but also daily helicopter flights to Putao for military preparations, according to local sources.

“A helicopter does not have a day off; it flies every day. It could be delivering supplies. Since the election is also near, it could be for security preparations. Every time a helicopter passes, people worry about when it will strike next. We have heard that Lang Se will be recaptured,” said a local resident.

Residents also reported that in Putao and Hkawnglanghpu areas, the Military Commission has been increasingly strengthening security to ensure that elections led by the Military Commission can be conducted with full turnout.

Currently, the Military Commission’s allied forces are conducting ground military operations in Putao. On November 16, a Military Commission convoy was intercepted and attacked by combined KIA forces near Mali Hka River in Machangbaw Township, and the Military Commission troops reportedly retreated toward Tan Ja Village near Lungsha Yang.

It is also reported that the attacked convoy was targeted while on its way to provide military support in Hkawnglanghpu. Since October 2025, KIA allied forces have been attacking Military Commission camps in Hkawnglanghpu Township, and after about four camps were captured in October, military reinforcements and intensified operations have reportedly increased within the Hkawnglanghpu area.
