Military Council Bombs Man Win Gyi Village at Midnight

Locals reported that the Military Council carried out an airstrike on Man Win Gyi Village, in Mansi Township, Kachin State, shortly after midnight yesterday.

"From just before midnight until around 12:30 a.m., the aircraft was hovering, and then about four bombs were dropped by a jet. Two of them fell near the edge of the village, one landed at the edge of Kawng Hkan Village, and another one fell into a fish pond," said a local resident.

The military reportedly carried out four bombing runs with a jet aircraft. As of now, there have been no confirmed reports of casualties. Because of this, locals fled during the night to nearby safe places.

Residents expressed concern that the midnight bombing occurred in an area where no clashes had broken out. Man Win Gyi Village was seized by joint forces of the KIA in January last year and is currently under KIO control.
