Military Council Continues Reinforcing Troops Toward Hpakant Area

It is reported that in recent days, the military council forces have once again mobilized troop reinforcements toward the Hpakant region.

On August 21 at around 8:30 a.m., a military column of about 100 soldiers from the military council, originating from Nam Ya village, moved to reinforce their presence in the Hpakant area.

It is learned that this column had arrived in Nam Ya on August 20, coming from Moegawng SAC Battalion 3, and was now advancing further toward Hpakant as part of reinforcement operations.

Since May of this year, the military council has been continuously launching large scale troop mobilizations into Hpakant, leading to daily clashes with KIA forces. Up to the present moment, military operations remain tense on both sides.

Furthermore, as battles have occurred on a daily basis, the military council troops have frequently shelled residential areas with heavy weapons, resulting in civilian casualties, including children.
