Military Council Launches Offensive Toward Kathar and Indaw

Military Council troops are advancing in large numbers toward Kathar and Indaw, located along the border between Kachin and Sagaing regions, according to sources.

The Military Council is reportedly carrying out a large-scale attack on Myat Taung village in Hti Gyaing Township, which is under the control of resistance forces. At the same time, they are continuing attacks toward Kathar and Indaw towns.

In Kathar, heavy fighting has been ongoing between both sides since March 20. Reports have also spread on social media claiming that the military has regained full control of the town.

However, on the ground, the battle for control of Kathar which began on March 20 is still ongoing, with tensions remaining high in areas surrounding the town. The military is also conducting frequent aerial bombardments.
