Since June, joint forces of the military council and the Kaunglanphu Militia have been reinforcing their military strength towards the Kaunglanphu region. By July, military movements have been observed between Khaunglanphu and Lanse areas, according to sources.
After losing control of the Langse region, the military council dispatched hundreds of troops towards Kaunglanphu. Since early July, military operations have been advancing near areas controlled by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA).
Due to these military advances, clashes reportedly broke out between coalition forces of the Kaunglanphu Militia and the KIA in the La Hu Se area, near Langse, which is currently under KIA control.
Sources close to military affairs report that the military council is also providing air support and transporting weapons in an attempt to retake the Langse region, which had previously been held by the Tang Gu Tan's Militia.
It is noted that the KIA and allied forces captured the Langse area in October 2024. In response, the military council has been increasing military activity in the Putao Road, Sum Pyi Yang, and Lung Sha Yang areas in efforts to reclaim the lost territory.
