In Kachin State, the military has launched air bomb attacks reaching as far as the Sadung area, where no active fighting had previously occurred. Residents of some villages, including Washawng Village along the Sadung Road, were forced to make urgent evacuations yesterday.
Heavy fighting continues near Lamyang Village, and the military is advancing with air bombing and ground attacks from Nam Wa, Mukchyik, and Sadung areas.
As a result, local residents from surrounding villages, including Washawng Village on Sadung Road, fled again seeking safety, with many escaping toward nearby secure locations and Myitkyina Town.
Since August, clashes have intensified again, with military council forces from Waimaw Kh.L.Y. (58) Infantry Battalion, the Northern Command Headquarter, Lekon, and Kyatpaung San firing heavy weapons day and night.
Due to these clashes, most civilians from a series of connected villages including Washawng, Lamyang, and Mukchyik had evacuated to safer grounds since last year and are now forced to flee again.
Currently, the military continues to reinforce and launch continuous offensives in Waimaw are, as well as in Bhamaw and Hpakant areas of Kachin State.
