Military Junta Conducted 134 Airstrikes in Bhamo Township Using Y-12 Aircraft in One Week

According to a statement released on April 14, 2025, by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) Information Department, the Myanmar military launched 134 aerial attacks using Y-12 aircraft in Bhamo Township, Kachin State, over the course of one week.


 Despite a declared ceasefire until April 22 due to the recent earthquake, the military continues to use aircraft, drones, and heavy artillery in Kachin State123.


The KIA reported that, in addition to the 134 Y-12 airstrikes, the military also carried out 67 drone strikes, 11 jet fighter sorties, and 274 heavy artillery strikes within the same week in Bhamo Township.


Currently, military tensions are high not only in Bhamo Township in Kachin State but also along the Indaw region of Sagaing, Waingmaw, and Tanai-Lido Road, with continuous heavy artillery fire reported.


The KIA and allied forces have been attacking Bhamo since early December 2024, capturing most of the military junta's bases, but they are still fighting to seize control of Infantry Battalion 21.
