On April 9, 2025, reports from locals confirmed that the military junta continued aerial bombardments in Bhamo, Kachin State, despite their earlier announcement of a temporary ceasefire from April 2 to 22 due to the earthquake. The junta deployed aircraft and drones for bombing raids, and ground troops were seen mobilizing with supplies and weapons.
Although no direct clashes occurred in Bhamo at present, fighting intensified near the Waingmaw-Lamyang village area, where junta forces and resistance groups engaged in battles. Additionally, on April 7, the junta bombed Indaw Township in Sagaing Region while KIA coalition forces captured the area.
