The military junta continues to carry out intense airstrike attacks not only in the Kachin State townships of Waimaw, Bhamaw, and Hpakant but also in other areas across the state, according to reports.

During the past week alone, there were as many as 42 clashes across Kachin State. Throughout these battles, the junta forces continuously used airstrikes, heavy artillery, and drone bombs in support of their ground operations. According to the KIO information department, within one week, the junta conducted 66 airstrikes, 54 drone bombings, and 514 artillery shellings.

In the Bhamaw frontline, continuous clashes took place as the junta launched ground offensives. There were 26 battles recorded within the week. In the Waimaw frontline, at least four defensive clashes occurred. As of now, ground offensives and fighting are still ongoing around the Waimaw and Bhamaw areas.

As the time for the junta’s planned elections draws near, airstrikes have extended even into resistance controlled territories in Kachin State where no clashes had previously occurred.

On October 26, in Machangbaw Township under KIA Brigade 1, the junta carried out eight airstrikes, while in the Brigade 7 area, 30 airstrikes were conducted, and in Njangyang Township, six airstrikes were carried out.
