The military junta has recently been deploying large numbers of troops and intensifying military operations in many areas under the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) brigades, according to sources.
In the area of KIA Brigade No. (1), Battalion No. (7), junta forces are reportedly advancing in large columns. Along the Putao-Htang Ga frontline within Battalion No. (7)’s area, the junta has launched troop movements with an estimated force of around 200 soldiers.
In addition, troop reinforcements are still ongoing toward the Shinggai Yang area in Machanbaw Township, with large vehicles transporting soldiers in full capacity.
Across KIA brigade territories, the junta is reinforcing its forces and increasing military activities. Artillery shelling and drone bomb attacks are reportedly being carried out regularly, and tensions are also rising in the Hkawng Lang Hpu area of KIA Brigade No. (7), sources said.
In the KIA Brigade No. (3) area, particularly around Bhamaw (3 Mile) and locations held by joint KIA forces, fighting has been occurring on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, junta units SaKhaKa (21) and Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 236 continue to launch artillery and drone bomb attacks.
Additionally, in the KIA Brigade No. (5) area along the Waimaw frontline, the military has recently reinforced its troops. Fighting broke out on January 20, and residents report that artillery fire has continued to be heard repeatedly up to today.
