Military Support Demonstration Emerges Again in Putao Town

In Putao town, a demonstration in support of the military and People’s Militia was organized by some local residents who back the armed forces. During the protest, military and allied Militia personnel provided security as a small group of civilians marched, holding signs with slogans such as, “Oppose the KIA and PDFs present in the Lang Se area; may patriotic soldiers from all fronts be healthy.”

On October 4, a similar pro-military demonstration took place in Hkawng Langhpu town. On that day, participants displayed slogans stating, “The Lang Se region military operations will succeed, oppose the KIA and its allies.”

The Lang Se area was seized by KIA and allied forces in December 2024, but since September 19, the military and local Militia joint forces have been engaged in counter offensives against them. Although the counter offensives resulted in injuries and a retreat, such public demonstrations have emerged afterward.
