It has been learned that the Myanmar military is upgrading the PSMS (Person and Monitoring System) application to track down and arrest political activists and CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) staff.
According to sources close to the military, the junta has instructed the enhancement of the PSMS system and the expansion of the blacklist database in order to arrest political activists and CDM participants across the country.
“The PSMS system has been in use for a long time. However, recently they have been redeveloping it to make it more advanced,” said a person close to the junta.
The system upgrade, which includes strengthening security measures and expanding the database of names, has reportedly been ordered to be implemented in all states and regions within October. Police forces are said to be the main executors of this process.
CDM staff members arrested through the PSMS system will also be prosecuted according to the law, sources said.
