Military Vessels Continue Advancing Toward Bhamo

Following attacks by resistance forces on military vessels advancing from Mandalay toward Kachin State, it has been reported that the remaining vessels continued sailing toward Bhamo today, July 22.

On July 19, resistance forces launched an attack targeting military vessels transporting arms, resulting in one vessel sinking and three others being damaged, according to a statement released by Mandalay’s PDF.

As of this morning, the remaining military fleet was reported to have reached the Inn Daw Township area and is expected to continue progressing toward Bhamo.

Since December 2024, battles have been ongoing to capture control of Bhamo, and the military began deploying warships from Mandalay’s Gawein port on July 17 to deliver weapons and supplies to the city.

Currently, continuous military operations are being carried out not only in Bhamo but also across larger parts of Kachin State, including the Hpakant and Inn Daw Gyi regions. Frequent clashes continue to occur between the two sides, along with regular airstrikes by the military.
