Motorcycle spare parts shop attacked with knives in Inndaw Township; shop owner killed

On August 4, 2025, in the Aung Le Pyin village of Inndaw Township, Sagaing Region, a motorcycle spare parts shop was violently attacked with knives. The male shop owner was killed in the incident.
At around 1 a.m. on August 2, four assailants entered the shop and attacked with knives. The male shop owner was stabbed to death, while a woman at the shop sustained a neck injury from a knife slash. The attackers also took away 3 million kyats in cash and some gold.
The male shop owner resisted trying to silence the attackers, which led to his fatal stabbing. The woman feigned death after being slashed and was later taken to hospital.
Local groups, including the PDF are investigating and trying to arrest the perpetrators.
It is further learned that at present, almost the entire town of Inddaw is deserted, with only a small number of displaced individuals taking shelter in the remaining undamaged homes.
