A shop in Nyein Chan Thar Yar Ward 3 of the Hpakant-Lone Khin village tract was reportedly broken into, and a motorcycle was stolen. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on October 4 when a group of robbers broke into the shop.
According to reports, the culprits had surveyed the scene beforehand and carried out the break-in as a group during heavy rain that night.
“The shop was broken into and my motorcycle was stolen. At the time, the shop was closed, and a man knocked on the door, saying he wanted to exchange drinking water containers. My wife, thinking he was someone from the neighborhood, opened the door. She noticed something suspicious and called me. When I came out, I realized that the sealed water container he brought had no brand label, so I switched it with another one. He then poured the water, placed it on the table, and sat waiting with his own container underneath. My wife said he was taking too long, and right after that, he stood up and poured again, that’s how he seemed to be scouting the house beforehand,” said the male shop owner.
The suspicious man was described as a stranger to the quarter, about 40 years old, of medium height and fair complexion, with a fit build and tattoos. He had a dragon tattoo on his right forearm. It was also learned that earlier this month, two other motorcycles were stolen after a similar break-in at a house in the Nyein Chan Thar Yar area.
