Myanmar Records 44 Female Deaths and 57 Injuries in April

A total of 44 women lost their lives and 57 others were injured across Myanmar due to airstrikes and ground attacks carried out by the military council, according to a statement released by the Myanmar Women’s Union.
Among the fatalities, 36 women were killed and 45 were injured due to airstrikes conducted by the military council.
Additionally, 4 women were killed in extrajudicial killings, 2 were killed and 6 injured in artillery attacks, 2 were killed and 1 injured due to gunfire, and 5 were injured due to landmines. The report also stated that among the victims were 8 girls under the age of 18 and 1 pregnant woman.
By region, Mandalay Region recorded the highest number of female deaths with 11 fatalities, while Kachin State recorded 3 deaths. In March, 88 women were reported killed and 54 were injured.
