Although the road sections to Mandalay from Myitkyina have been reopened, the military council's troops are controlling and releasing vehicles in a restricted manner, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded, according to drivers.

Fighting broke out in two locations on the Myitkyina-Monywa-Mandalay road section on the morning of September 16, leading to the temporary closure of the road sections. While the road was reopened around noon, it has been learned that the military is controlling the passage of vehicles.

The Myitkyina-Mandalay road section frequently sees fighting. Revolutionary forces have warned the public to travel with caution, as the military council troops often use civilians as human shields and force them to perform tasks like mine detection.

Furthermore, intense fighting is ongoing between the Shan Ni Militia (SNA), a military council aligned militia, and revolutionary forces in the area around Banmauk town, on the border of Kachin State and Sagaing Region. It has been reported that the military is conducting continuous airstrikes.
