On March 20th, a fire incident occurred at approximately 5:00 PM, involving three train carriages parked at the Namma Train Station in Namma Village, Mohnyin Township, Kachin State, as reported by local residents.
An eyewitness account revealed that the fire was observed upon their return from InGyinKone Village. "Prior to the arrival of the fire engine, young individuals engaged in a futsal game near the station attempted to extinguish the flames. However, the intense sunlight contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. The teak construction of the train’s passenger seats further exacerbated the situation."
According to local residents, the fire originated from a candle that fell onto the property while drug addicts were consuming drugs within the train carriages.
It is worth noting that despite the suspension of train services following the coup, the train carriages continue to be occupied by drug users and homeless individuals, as reported by local residents.
