According to displaced civilians, residents fleeing from the ongoing intense clashes in the Bhamaw area are facing growing hardship in meeting their basic needs as the fighting continues without consistent aid or support.

Since December 4 of last year, fierce battles around Bhamaw have forced more than 10,000 residents from over 30 villages along the Malihka river including Myale, Han Htet, Kaung Ton, Man Tae, Mon Khong, Lan Ka, Mung Ding Pa, and Sin Khan to flee their homes. Now, after nearly a year in displacement, these people are struggling with severe shortages of food, clothing, and other essentials.

Many of the displaced fled on foot with little or no belongings and have been sheltering in makeshift camps, relying solely on their own efforts to survive. Families with many members are finding it even harder to sustain themselves, according to IDPs.

In addition, despite the increasing number of displaced people, living conditions remain inadequate. Access to food, clothing, and healthcare is severely limited, and many IDPs express concern about how long they will have to remain in this situation. They have called for consistent assistance with medicine and food supplies.
