Oil Warehouse Fire Breaks Out in Shwe Zet Ward, Myitkyina

An oil warehouse located in Ward (1) of Shwe Zet Ward in Myitkyina caught fire at around 8:30 AM today, according to sources.

The fire occurred near Karing Naw Market in Shwe Zet Area (1), situated between Man Hkring Ward and Shwe Zet Ward along the riverside road. It is reported that five fire engines were deployed to extinguish the blaze.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. However, due to the presence of large oil transport trucks and fuel bowser vehicles at the site, the fire spread rapidly.

After about two hours, the fire was brought under control at approximately 10:30 AM. The extent of the damage and losses caused by the fire has not yet been determined. Previously, on March 24, a scrap metal shop in Myitkyina also caught fire.
