On the 5th day of the Internet Cut off in Kachin State, only Atom Sim card was reactivated

Some townships, including Myitkyina in Kachin state have not had internet access for a long time, and today on December 12, only Atom SIM card was reactivated.
The residents of Kachin State, a population of around 5 million people reside in, have faced many business inconveniences due to the lack of access to the Internet and the interruption of the Internet connection.
Currently, businesses working with Atom, Mytel, Oredoo, MPT operators in Myanmar are also affected by many deposit and withdrawal operations. It is said that only CDMA-800MHZ is available to communicate through the phone and get internet 3G network.
According to a local who purchased the CDMA phone, the price of buying that CDMA phone is above 300,00 including the SIM card, and the internet is charged at 6 kyats per 1 MB and it is very difficult even for the grassroots level to buy.
Only one store in downtown of Myitkyina is available to get that SIM card and they sell them only 12 to 14 card per day.
It has been almost two months since November 7th that the internet was cut off in Kachin State, and even phone call is somewhat inconvenient. To use the Internet, only the Atom SIM card was a little convenient.
In addition, the Atom SIM card internet connection, which was cut off from the evening of December 7th, was regained access today on the evening of the 12th December and it’s been 5 days. Residents of Myitkyina said that they are anxiously waiting to see when the ban will be reinstated.
