Over 100 Men Killed Nationwide Within Three Months

According to a statement released yesterday, April 9, by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), a total of 156 civilian men were killed across the country due to violence by the military junta during the three month period from January 1, 2026, to March 31, 2026.


Among the deceased, 34 were children under the age of 18, and it was stated that all victims have been fully identified by name. Sagaing Region recorded the highest number of deaths with 40 victims, followed by Bago Region with 31 victims.


Of the total 156 deaths, 111 were killed due to airstrikes carried out by the military junta. It was also reported that there are an additional 123 deaths still being verified and confirmed separately, and efforts are ongoing to authenticate those cases.


On March 26, at around 2:30 PM, in Nyaung Kone village, Myaing Township, Mandalay Region, four civilians including U Kyi Maung and three others whose names are still under investigation were killed when the military junta dropped bombs using a motorized paraglider (paramotor) on the village.
