Over 20 Drug Users and Traffickers in Hopin Area Arrested by Drug Enforcement Group

In the Hopin area, the local based drug enforcement group (Pat Jasan) carried out drug enforcement operations, leading to the arrest of over 20 individuals involved in drug use and trafficking, it has been reported.

On September 4th, it is reported that the local drug enforcement group collaborated with drug enforcement teams from the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) to conduct operations in the Hopang area. They arrested 20 users and 4 traffickers.

Traffickers U Lattyar, Kyaw Myaing, Ko Si, and U Soe Moe Chit were arrested along with the narcotics. The 20 users have been handed over to the relevant court of the responsible drug enforcement committee and will face action, it has been learned.

Besides undertaking the responsibility of clearing and handling such drug enforcement operations within the Hopin area in this manner, it is understood that they will continue to carry out these activities.
