It has been reported that fuel prices in Myanmar, which are already at record-high levels, continue to increase further.
According to this week’s reference prices set by the military council, fuel prices have reached 4,735 kyats per liter for 92 octane petrol, 4,945 kyats per liter for 95 octane petrol, 6,485 kyats per liter for diesel, and 7,755 kyats per liter for premium diesel.
However, in central and upper Myanmar, due to transportation difficulties, petrol prices have reportedly surged to over 10,000 kyats per liter depending on the type of fuel.
It is also reported that ongoing political and military tensions in the Middle East are contributing to the continuous rise in global fuel prices.
In Kachin State, including Myitkyina and Waimaw townships, prices for 92 and 95 octane petrol are reported to range between 13,000 kyats and 15,000 kyats per liter.
