According to a person in contact with the village, the Shong Kung village, which was destroyed by a fire that started in a house without an owner, is being prepared for rehabilitation thanks to the support of the Kachin state government and civil donor groups.
The Prime Minister of Kachin State,Hkyet Hting Nan, visited during the second week of November. It is said that 60,000,000 kyat was given for the rehabilitation of the village. In addition, civil donors in Putao city also donated 17,800,000 kyat.

"On the second week of this month, the Prime Minister of Kachin State himself visited and provided 60,000,000. After that, the village received a total of 17,800,000 donation from the city of Putao. With that, they fed the local people who were affected by the fire. They are also working to prepare it," said Malikhu, who lives close to the area, to Pajau Media.
The village was destroyed by a fire that started at around 2:00 a.m on the morning of November 7th in an unoccupied house at the top of the village. The houses in the village were close to each other, and the fire could not be extinguished due to the drought, and hundreds of houses were burnt to ashes.
A total of 63 houses in Shong Kung village were burnt to ashes. It is said that the estimated value of damages in the fire-affected area is 1,400,000,000 kyat (1,400,000,000) and the total number of people affected by the fire is (303).
Sheung Khong village in Khaung Lan Phu Township, Putao District has 103 houses. It is located as a very beautiful village in the ice-covered northern part of Myanmar. It is also the second most populated area in Khaung Lan Phu Township.
In addition, it is located about 50 kilometers away in Khaung Lan Phu. In the far north of Myanmar, it is also a central point as a border gate area for the main trade with China.
