A public consultation and briefing meeting regarding the Myitsone Project was held again yesterday for the 13th time at the Jubilee Hall of the Evangelical Divinity College in Tatkone Ward, according to a statement released by the Kachin State Government Office.

The meeting was attended by members of the Kachin State government, ward elders and administrators, leaders from various Christian churches, and local residents.

In addition, members of the Kachin State Local Committee Dr. Aung Win, U Tun Tun Hlaing, U Lamung La, U Naw Htoi, and U Jan Khun (also known as U Naw Khun) were also present. They delivered presentations and discussions on topics including findings from technical experts, geological assessments, information about major dams around the world, electricity generation, and comparisons with developed countries.

Similarly, on April 3, another public consultation and discussion related to the Myitsone Hydropower Project was held at the Chinese Cultural School in Shwenyaungpin Ward.

Efforts to mobilize public support for the resumption of the Myitsone Project are being increasingly carried out by the State Administration Council and the Kachin State Government. As of yesterday, a total of 13 public consultation meetings have already been conducted in Myitkyina.
