It is reported that the road connecting Hkawnglanghpu and Noungmun, which was damaged by heavy rainfall in late May, has not yet been repaired, causing difficulties for the residents.

Due to the heavy rain and flooding, a school building in Ridam village, located along the Hkawnglanghpu-Ridam route, was swept away by flood. As a result, transporting materials to rebuild a new classroom for children’s education has become difficult since the road remains unrepaired.

Authorities plan to begin constructing temporary classrooms this month, as it remains challenging to transport materials needed to rebuild the damaged school building into a more durable structure.

After the school building was washed away, around 60 students from Ridam village have been attending classes in makeshift spaces such as monasteries and health clinics.

Although travel between Hkawnglanghpu and Ridam villages is still possible, the road section between Naungmun-Putao and Ridam remains damaged, making it difficult to travel except by motorcycle, and even then, with great difficulty.

The Hkawnglanghpu area is known for its poor road conditions, with transportation being difficult from all directions. As it is a region where roads were only recently opened, they often become impassable during the rainy season.
