Residents of Indaw Town on Sagaing–Kachin Border Urged by IR Group to Prepare Essential Supplies

Residents of Indaw town, located on the border between Sagaing Region and Kachin State, have been warned by the Indaw Revolution (IR) group to prepare essential items, including medicines and food supplies, in advance due to reports that military council troops may launch an offensive into the town, which is currently controlled by revolutionary forces.

According to political observers, after military council troops advanced into Katha town on April 19, there is a possibility that they may continue their offensive toward Indaw.

Since the last week of March, clashes for control of towns have been taking place in areas along the Sagaing–Kachin border. It is reported that the military council has already regained control over many wards and villages in Katha Township.

The military council is reportedly conducting these military operations in an effort to regain control over territories along the Sagaing–Kachin border that they had previously lost.
