According to residents of Mogaung, 5 local people who were taken hostage by the Military Council Army in Maran Kahtawng Village, Mogaung Township were released yesterday, November 28.
"The 5 locals who were arrested were released yesterday. However, they were released on bail. Internet channels are also bad, so I can't post news. I don't see it coming up in any media. Can't escape it. They are on watch. The military council said that no one can escape. I don't know what will happen next." said a layman from the church.
The hostages were released on the 28th, 3 days after being arrested by visiting and consulting with local military officials from neighborhood elders and church officials.
In addition, the local residents are worried that due to the current military tensions, the fighting will continue. Although they wanted to run away to nearby villages but they said they must follow the military council's "no one should evade" order.
"The SAC said no one can escape and flee. They said that they will burn the houses that are no longer inhabited and houses that fled. I am now hiding in Naung Pu Village," said a woman named Daw Hpauyam Bawk from the village told the situation to Pajau Media that the locals wanted to run away, but they couldn't run away and they were worried.
KIA and joint forces attacked the gate of the military council base settled in Maran Kahtawng village on November 25 at around 8:00 am.
Therefore, 5 local people from the area were arrested by the Battalion (3) of the Military Council and at least 50 heavy artilleries were fired in the village. The residents were injured and damaged due to continuous firing. There are losses and the locals are worried that this will continue to happen.
