Shwegu Area Military Camp Seized by KIA Joint Forces

According to military sources, clashes broke out between the two sides in Shwegu Township, Kachin State, and the military camp of the State Administration Council (SAC) forces stationed at the Shwegu 5th Junction area was reportedly captured by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) joint forces.

It is reported that the SAC forces had launched an offensive operation in the Shwegu area, which is under KIA Brigade 11 territory, starting from April 21.

The SAC military columns advancing toward Shwegu Township reportedly included Infantry Battalion (IB) 56, Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 602, and units under Division 88, including LIB 378 and LIB 416.

Currently, in addition to ongoing military offensives in Shwegu under KIA Brigade 11 territory, SAC forces are also conducting military operations in the Hpakant area, which is also under Brigade 11 control, according to reports.
