It has been reported that some students from Kachin State, who were traveling to take their distance university exams, were arrested by the military while on their way through areas such as Myitkyina-Shwebo-Sagaing.

“A student left home to take the exam, but even after four days of travel, there’s been no news. Incidents like this have been happening frequently lately,” said a local resident from Myitkyina who is aware of the situation.

It is reported that junta troops, together with members of the Pyu Saw Htee militia, have been jointly conducting forced porter recruitment and arrests along the strategic Shwebo-Myitkyina highway, particularly near Zee Kone and Malel junction areas.

Those arrested are said to be young people who were traveling to take their university exams, and they have reportedly been sent to the junta’s Infantry Battalion (6006).

In addition, it has been reported that junta troops stationed along the Shwebo-Myitkyina strategic road within Kanbalu Township are also extorting money from travelers. As a result, revolutionary forces have issued warnings for travelers to remain cautious while on the road.
