Son Kills Father with Knife in Japu Village

A fatal stabbing incident occurred in Japu Village where internally displaced persons have recently resettled, at around 6:00 p.m. on October 19, when a 28 year old son allegedly killed his father with a knife, according to local sources.

The incident reportedly took place in the evening of October 19, when the son, identified as 28 year old Dawshi Gam Yu, became intoxicated after drinking alcohol and got into a heated argument with his father, U Dawshi La Sam, which escalated into violence. During the quarrel, the son attacked and fatally stabbed his father with a knife.

The father, aged 57, sustained multiple stab wounds to the head, body, and arms, resulting in his death. The perpetrator, his son, is said to have fled the scene and is currently in hiding. Local authorities in Japu area are continuing their search and investigation, according to reports from residents.

Japu Village had previously been abandoned due to clashes in 2011, but after being recaptured and brought under control by the KIA joint forces in 2024, displaced villagers had begun returning and resettling there.
