The State Administration Council (SAC) is conducting offensives along the Myitkyina-Hpakant road in Kachin State, while the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied forces have intensified their assault to seize Bhamo town as of today, April 25.

In Bhamo town, Kachin State, clashes between the KIA and the SAC have escalated since around 4 a.m. on April 25, according to frontline military sources. On April 24, the SAC also launched a large-scale offensive toward Kamaing in Hpakant Township, triggering clashes near Hpakant and Nam Ya areas, as reported by a Hpakant resident assisting displaced civilians.

"Right now, everyone is fleeing. Those near Lung Ba and Nam Ya have to evacuate entirely. The fighting isn’t far from Nam Ya. Yesterday around 3 p.m., while helping displaced people, we could hear gunfire and artillery from Nam Ya. Even now, we’re still assisting those fleeing," the resident said.

Since the morning of April 25, continuous artillery fire has also been heard in Myitkyina town, a local resident reported. Due to renewed military tensions, civilians from Nam Ya, Kat Maw, Seng Hpra, Hkrai Run, and Gat Nway areas have all been forced to flee. There is an urgent need for transportation, shelter, and food supplies to assist the displaced.

Although the SAC has extended its declared ceasefire for reconstruction until April 30, citing "strong destructive earthquakes," it continues to deploy large-scale offensives in Kachin State. Meanwhile, battles across various parts of the state have grown increasingly intense.
