State Administration Council’s Heavy Weapon Attacks Kill 24 Civilians Nationwide in Over a Month

From April 1 to May 16, over a month, a total of 24 civilians—10 women and 14 men—were killed across the country due to heavy weapon attacks by the State Administration Council (SAC), according to a statement released by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP).
Among the deceased were four children under the age of 18. The highest number of casualties occurred in Sagaing and Magway Regions, with six deaths each.
On May 14, SAC troops indiscriminately fired heavy weapons into Yae Kyi Pin Village, Yinma Pin Township, Sagaing Region. A shell hit a house, killing a Grade-12 female student after being struck by shrapnel.
Additionally, from January 1 to May 9, SAC forces caused the deaths of 222 women across the country, including 38 children under the age of 18.
